When my kids were little, making Halloween treats was one of our favorite traditions. We’d pull out the sprinkles, melt the chocolate, and laugh at the mess we made together.

Now that I’m a grandma, I’m excited to start the same tradition with my granddaughter.

I like to keep things simple, so these sweet little spider webs are just right—easy enough for me to make and fun enough for everyone to enjoy.

Ingredients For Pretzel Spider Webs

  • Pretzel sticks: These form the base of each spider web—salty, crunchy, and perfectly shaped for creating spokes.
  • White chocolate: Melted down to create the web effect.
  • Black or chocolate candy melts: Used to create chocolate spiders for a fun Halloween touch.
  • Halloween sprinkles: Add color, texture, and a festive look to each spider web treat.

How to Make Chocolate Pretzel Spider Webs

Build your webs

four sets of pretzel sticks arranged in starburst patterns on parchment paper, ready to be turned into spider webs.

Grab 8 pretzel sticks and arrange them like spokes on a wheel. Make 10 little webs on parchment paper—they’re your tasty spider traps!

Melt the chocolate

bowls of melted white and milk chocolate with spoons next to a dish of colorful Halloween sprinkles on a white marble background.

Toss the white candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and zap them in 30-second bursts, stirring until smooth and creamy.

Pipe the Webs

pretzel webs piped with white chocolate circles on parchment paper, forming the base for spider web treats.

Spoon the melted candy into a zip-top bag, snip a teeny corner, and get ready to draw.

Squeeze a dot of white chocolate in the center of each pretzel wheel to glue everything together.

Pipe web loops around the pretzels, working from the center out. It doesn’t have to be perfect—spiders aren’t picky!

Bring on the sprinkles

Before the chocolate sets, shower your webs with Halloween sprinkles for that festive flair.

Add some spiders (if you dare).

Pipe a small chocolate dot on the web and drag out the legs with a toothpick. I used these fun spider sprinkles.

Let them set

Give your webs an hour to firm up, then gently peel them off the paper and get ready to impress your little goblins!

Tips for Making Chocolate Pretzel Spider Webs

  • Microwave candy melts in 30-second bursts, stirring well between each one—this helps them melt evenly and prevents scorching.
  • Use a piping bag for a smoother, more controlled web design.
  • Pop the webs in the fridge for about an hour—or use the freezer for a quick fix—to firm them up before handling.
  • These easy-to-store snacks can be prepared a day in advance and stored in a single layer in an airtight container, with parchment paper placed between each layer.

Variations to Try

  • Swap white for purple, orange, or black candy melts to match your Halloween theme.
  • If you prefer, use white chocolate chips instead of the white chocolate.
  • Add mini candy spider sprinkles to the webs—press them on while the chocolate is still warm to save time.
