- All-Purpose Flour: The foundation of our cookies, providing structure and texture.
- Baking Soda: This helps our cookies rise and spread, ensuring a perfect shape every time.
- Salt: This enhances the flavor of all other ingredients.
- Butterfly Pea Powder: A natural, blue food coloring. You can substitute blue food coloring if you prefer.

Step By Step Directions for Cookie Monster Cookies
Step 1: Let’s get the stage ready
Gather Your Ingredients.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). As the oven warms up, it’s preparing to welcome your cookies and turn them into lovely, edible monsters.
Next, prepare your baking stage. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Step 2: Mixing Ingredients

Grab a large bowl, and add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Give it a good mix until everything is mingling together.
In another bowl, let’s create the base for our cookie dough. You’ll need your softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix them together, add in your eggs and vanilla extract.
The Cookie Monster magic happens now! Gradually add the butterfly pea powder or food coloring to the mixture.

Stir gently until your dough reaches the right shade of blue. Remember, add the color gradually until you get the desired blue shade. Cookie Monster would be proud!
Step 3 Finishing The Dough

Now, slowly introduce your flour mixture to the blue dough. Mix it gently, letting the flour absorb the colors and the flavors.
It’s time for the sweet surprise. Gently fold in your chosen chocolate chips and half of your chopped cookies. You’re adding bits of joy into every bite!
Step 4 Baking

Scoop out your dough and roll it into balls. Then place them on your prepared baking sheet. Make sure they have enough room to spread out.
Pop them into your preheated oven. Bake at 350°F for 8 minutes until done. They’ll come out smelling like heaven.
Step 5 Final Touches

Once out of the oven, gently flatten the cookies while they’re still warm. Sprinkle the remaining chopped cookies on the bottom half of each cookie, then add two eyes to each.
Cookie Monster’s eyes are a little wonky, so have fun with the placement!
Let your cookies rest for 5 minutes. They will continue to cook, giving them a nice chewy texture.
Transfer them to a cookie rack for further cooling. And voila, your Cookie Monster cookies are ready to wow your kids!
Enjoy this fun baking journey, and remember, just like the Cookie Monster, cookies are meant to be shared! Happy baking!
