Looking for a fun Christmas snack that’s quick to make and guaranteed to put a smile on people’s faces? Our Grinch pretzels are just the thing! Sweet, salty, and dipped in green candy coating, each one is topped with a red candy heart for that classic Grinch-y charm.
In this post, you’ll find easy step-by-step instructions to whip up a batch that’s perfect for parties, gift bags, or a festive treat at home.

The Grinch movie was a big deal in our house when my kids were growing up. Every December, we’d cuddle up on the couch with blankets, popcorn, and something sweet to snack on.
It became one of those traditions that stuck, year after year, with the same movie and the same laughs. These Grinch pretzels fit right in. They’re festive, fun, and just the kind of treat I wish we had back then.
I look forward to serving these fun snacks to my granddaughter one day.

Ingredients for Grinch Pretzels

Mini Pretzel Twists: These give the snack its salty crunch and classic shape, perfect for holding that festive green coating.
Green candy melts: Melted and smooth, this sweet coating gives each pretzel its bright Grinch-y color and holiday flair.
Red Heart Sprinkles: A tiny red heart adds the perfect finishing touch and a fun nod to the Grinch’s heart growing three sizes.

How to Make Grinch Pretzels
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent your pretzels from sticking. It also makes cleanup way easier—win-win!
Grab a microwave-safe bowl and pour in your green candy melts. Heat them in short bursts (about 20–30 seconds at a time), stirring between each burst, until smooth and creamy.

Using a fork or a candy-dipping tool, dunk each pretzel into the melted green candy. Let the extra drip off, then place them gently on your prepared baking sheet.

Before the candy coating hardens, press a red heart sprinkle onto one side of each pretzel. That little heart is what gives them their Grinchy charm!

Leave the pretzels out at room temperature to cool and harden. If you’re in a hurry (or just impatient), pop the tray into the fridge for about 10 minutes to speed up the process.
Once the candy is firm, your Grinch pretzels are ready! You can munch on them right away or store them in an airtight container for up to a week—if they last that long!
