Ingredients

Pizza Dough

  • 3 1/2 cups of flour
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons of active yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups of warm water

Pizza Toppings

  • 1 10 oz can of refried beans
  • 1 lb of ground beef or turkey
  • Taco seasoning
  • 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups of shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato diced
  • 1 4 oz can of sliced black olives

Instructions

Make Pizza Dough

  • Combine water, sugar, flour, salt, and yeast. Knead 10 minutes until a ball forms.
  • Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–2 hours until doubled in size.
  • Press dough evenly onto a greased 10×15 sheet pan. Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes until lightly set.

Prepare Taco Meat

  • While the crust bakes, cook ground meat in a skillet over medium heat until no pink remains. Drain the grease, then stir in taco seasoning and water according to the packet directions. Simmer until the meat is cooked through.

Assemble Taco Pizza

  • Spread refried beans evenly over the baked crust, then layer the seasoned meat on top.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese over the meat, then return to the oven for 5 more minutes, until melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and add shredded lettuce, diced tomato, and sliced black olives. Slice into 8 pieces and serve immediately.

Notes

If you are short of time, purchase a pizza base and use that. It will work just as well.
