Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups shredded wheat cereal
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
  • ½ cup coconut shavings
  • Green food dye
  • Mini Cadbury Eggs or favorite candy eggs

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter and semi-sweet chocolate. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.
  • Add shredded wheat to the melted mixture and fold gently until completely coated.
  • Line a cupcake pan with liners. Spoon a heaping tablespoon of the mixture into each liner and press down the center to form a nest.
  • Place the pan in the freezer for 15 minutes to allow the nests to firm up.
  • Add a few drops of green food dye to a resealable bag with the coconut. Seal and shake until evenly colored.
  • Remove the firm nests from the liners, sprinkle with green coconut "grass," and place three candy eggs in each nest.

Notes

Make cleanup easy: Use cupcake liners to keep things neat and make removing the nests from the pan easier.
For best results, lightly coat the inside of the cupcake liners with coconut oil or non-stick spray. This will make it easier to remove the nests without any sticking.
