I wanted to create something a little more creative than run-of-the-mill cards you’ll find in the store. I thought it would also be great to have a card that doubles as an activity. So, I created some DIY coloring cards and figured out how to attach some crayons.

Our designs feature some cute Valentine monsters. They are intended to be colored by the recipients, so the designs are black and white. We kept the design very simple to make it easy to color.

There are four cards per page, making this a quick project to print and assemble.

Of course, the best thing about making your own cards is that they are practically free! You can also print off the exact number of cards that you need. Just print, cut, and attach crayons for a sweet and easy classroom valentine!

It doesn’t matter what kind of cardstock you use, but anything recycled makes this craft a little more eco-friendly.

If you wish, you can buy small individually wrapped packs of crayons. These are easily taped to the front of the card. However, you can easily tape a few loose crayons to the card as well. This works well if you have a lot of crayons at home or prefer not to have plastic wrapping.

If you would like to skip the crayons, we have created a set of printable valentines for kids that doesn’t have space for the crayons. Just print and cut them apart! They are even easier to make.

Materials

Instructions

  1. Download your cards.
  2. Cut them apart with a paper trimmer or scissors.
  3. Tape the crayons to the bottom

Could it be any easier? If you want to add a pop of color, just cut a sheet of colored cardstock into 4 pieces 5.5 X 4.25 inches. Stick the cards on top.
