There is nothing quite like decorating the Christmas tree, is there? We still do it even though we no longer have kids at home.

When my boys were growing up, it was a much-anticipated event. One of our favorite Christmas activities was making ornaments for the tree.

Homemade decorations are really special, aren’t they? These unique treasures are made with love and reflect the personality of their creator.

The trick is finding ornaments that are easy enough for kids to make without a lot of help.

I always appreciated projects that didn’t require too much preparation. The weeks before Christmas are frantic enough. We need a quick and easy craft that is fun and encourages creativity.

With that in mind, we created two simple printable Christmas ornaments for your kids to color.

How To Make The Printable Christmas Ornaments

Are you ready to make some printable Christmas ornaments with your kids?

Materials

Instructions

  • Download the file and then print it onto the cardstock.
  • Invite children to color and decorate the ornament as desired.
  • Cut around the outline of the ornament.

  • Tape a few coins on the undecorated side (They are needed to make the ornaments hang well.)
  • Fold along the dotted line so the design is on the outside.
  • Punch a hole in the top
  • Thread a hanging loop through the hole.

This is where your children’s creativity gets a workout. Our printable Christmas ornaments will look lovely if they are simply colored with crayons or pencil crayons. However, a few extra craft supplies can make them look exceptional. Here are some ideas.

Tip: Public libraries often have toner printers/photocopiers available for use. These produce copies that do not run when water is added.
