How to Make Pipe Cleaner Spiders

Materials Needed:
- 4 pipe cleaners
- Googly eyes
- White glue (we used Tacky)
- Scissors
We found some cute pipe cleaners with two colors, but any color will do.
Prepare the Legs

Take two of the pipe cleaners and cut them in half using scissors. You should now have four equal-length pieces. Bundle the four pieces together, lining up their ends. These will be the spider’s legs.
Create the Body

Take the remaining two pipe cleaners. Wrap each one in turn around the center of the bundled legs to create the spider’s body.

Shape the Legs
Bend and shape the legs to give them a spider-like appearance. Use the photograph as a reference. You make one bend in the middle of the leg and then another to create the foot.

Attach the Eyes

The eyes are optional, but I think they give the spider personality.
Place a small amount of white glue on the back of the googly eyes. Carefully position the googly eyes on the front of the spider’s body and press them down gently. Hold for a moment to ensure they stick firmly.

Step 5: Allow to Dry
Set your pipe cleaner spider aside to dry. Once the glue is completely dry, your cute pipe cleaner spider is ready to use or display!

Enjoy your adorable pipe cleaner spider craft. You can make multiple spiders with different colors and sizes to create a fun and spooky decoration for Halloween or any other occasion.

Displaying Your Pipe Cleaner Spiders
Here are some simple ways to display your pipe cleaner spiders:
- Hang them from a thread: Attach a piece of thread or fishing line to the spider and hang them from a doorframe, chandelier, or any suitable hanging spot.
- Create a spiderweb: Use white yarn or string to make a spiderweb on a wall or window, and place the spiders on the web.
- Decorate a wreath: Add the spiders to a Halloween wreath made of twigs, leaves, or foam, and hang it on your front door.

- Scatter them on a tabletop: Place the spiders on a Halloween-themed tablecloth or centerpiece to add a spooky touch to your dining area.
- Make a mobile: Hang the spiders from a stick to create a spider-themed mobile from the ceiling.
- These ideas will help you showcase your pipe cleaner spiders and add a touch of Halloween whimsy to your home.

Bonus Idea! Make the spiders with sparkly pipe cleaners for a fun Christmas ornament. The legend of the Christmas spider is so cute.
