  • Cardstock
  • Scissors or paper cutter
  • Printable signs

Don’t have cardstock? Paper will do in a pinch. It won’t be as sturdy, but it only has to last for a short time.

Instructions:

  1. Print out your chosen Elf on the Shelf baking cookies sign on cardstock.
  2. To make a tent sign, cut the sign out around the outer grey border. Fold the sign in half along the top of the design to create a tent.
  3. To make a sign for the Elf to hold, cut out the front part of the design only. Flatten the end of a paper straw and tape the flat end to the back of the sign.

Bonus Printable For Those Using The Kindness Elves

We created a second sign for those using the Kindness Elves. It is the same, but it suggests baking cookies to give away as an act of kindness. We kept the wording vague to cover all eventualities. “Friends” could mean

  • Neighbors
  • School friends
  • Family friends
  • Those who serve our community, such as firefighters

We all know that this is a busy time of year. It could be that you really don’t have time to bake cookies. Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered.

The third sign in our printable invites children to decorate cookies. Set up your Elf with a bag of pre-baked/store-bought cookies, frosting and sprinkles, and the sign.

The advantage of this one is that the activity is ready to go, and kids can decorate cookies independently. It also takes a lot less time, but you still get to do a fun activity with your kids.

So there you have it! An easy Elf on the Shelf baking cookies printable that is sure to make your kids very happy.

You only need a few supplies, a cookie mix and the Elf. So what are you waiting for? Get the sign ready, and let’s make some elf magic for your kids!
