I loved doing Easter crafts with my kids. There’s something special about gathering around the table, pulling out the crayons and glue, and creating something fun together.

This little wobbling bunny is the kind of project we would have loved! It’s an easy Easter craft that kids can proudly display or use for imaginative play.

But it’s also a hands-on way to explore the concept of the center of gravity. Kids can see how shifting weight affects movement without needing a complicated science lesson.

Even better? This craft comes with a free printable template that makes it quick and frustration-free. Just print, color, cut, and assemble! It’s perfect for home, the classroom, or a fun Easter playdate.

Ready to get started? Let’s make a wibbly-wobbly bunny!

Materials Needed

To make your own Wibble Wobble Bunny Toy, you’ll need:

  • Printed template (page 2 of the free download, printed on cardstock)
  • Pencil crayons (or markers/crayons for coloring)
  • Plastic bottle cap (such as from a water or soda bottle)
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun (with glue sticks)
  • Playdough (to help with balance)

With these simple materials, your kids will have a fun craft and a mini science experiment!

How to Make a Wibble Wobble Bunny

Ready to make your own adorable, wobbly bunny? Follow these simple steps, and in no time, you’ll have a fun little toy that rocks from side to side but never falls down!

Print & Color

First, grab the free template and print it onto cardstock. Regular paper will be too flimsy, so cardstock is best!

Then, let the kids go wild with their pencil crayons, markers, or crayons—the more colorful, the better! You’ll need two bunnies for each toy.

Cut It Out

Once your bunnies are decorated to perfection, carefully cut them out along the solid lines. Younger kids might need a little help with this part.

Attach the Bottle Cap

Now for the fun part! Grab a plastic bottle cap and use hot glue to attach one bunny to the top of the cap. Make sure the cap sits at the bottom of the bunny’s shape—this will help with the wobbling magic later!

Add Some Weight

Press a little playdough into the bottom of the bottle cap. This is what makes the bunny wobble instead of falling over!

Play around with the amount until your bunny can stand up straight (or lean to the right or left if you want a wobbly surprise).

Stick on the Second Bunny

Spread hot glue over the playdough and the rim of the bottle cap. Then, carefully press the second bunny on top, ensuring both sides line up. Let it dry for a minute.

Wobble Away!

Once the glue is set, it’s time to test it out. Set your bunny on a flat surface and gently nudge it—watch as it wobbles but never falls over!

The Science Behind the Wibble Wobble Bunny

The Wibble Wobble Bunny stays upright because of its low center of gravity. The playdough inside the bottle cap keeps most of the toy’s weight at the bottom.

When the bunny is tipped, it pivots on the edge of the cap, lifting the weight slightly.

Since gravity always pulls things down, it naturally pulls the bunny back to its original position. This back-and-forth motion is what makes the bunny wobble instead of falling over!

This happens because of a twisting force called torque. When the bunny is pushed over, the tipped weight creates torque, which makes the circular lid swing back down. The bunny wobbles back and forth until the forces balance out again.

Want to experiment? Try placing the playdough on the side of the bottle cap instead of the bottom. The bunny will still wobble but settle into a different resting position rather than standing upright.

This is a fun way for kids to see how shifting the weight can change an object’s center of gravity!

Fun Variations: More Ways to Use Your Wibble Wobble Bunny!

Want to mix things up? The Wibble Wobble Bunny template isn’t just for wobbling toys—it can also be used in other fun ways!

Make Simple Finger Puppets

Instead of attaching the bunnies to a bottle cap, cut them out, color them, and tape a small loop of paper or cardstock to the back. Slip a finger through the loop, and voilà—instant bunny puppets! Kids can use them to put on a mini Easter puppet show, act out a story, or just hop them around for fun.

Use as Easter Craft Decorations

These bunnies are too cute to keep to themselves! Print and color a few extras, then use them to decorate Easter cards, baskets, or DIY table centerpieces.

Glue them onto popsicle sticks for an easy Easter plant pick, or add some string and turn them into adorable Easter gift tags.

The Wibble Wobble Bunny makes a perfect Easter activity! Set up a craft station and let kids color, cut, and create their own wobbly bunnies—it’s a great way to keep little hands busy while waiting for an egg hunt or Easter dinner.
