Remove any tag or stickers from the clay pots.
Basecoat one clay pot in each color, Red, White, and Blue. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. Cut a chenille stem into four-inch sections, bend in half and then attach a large pompom to each end with a glue gun and glue sticks. Place to one side.
Add contrasting polka dots to the pot. Dip a new pencil eraser into the paint and dab onto the pot.
Cut off the bottom of two foam hearts to make wings. Use the glue gun to attach them to the center of the clay pot.
Add a face to the winter bug by hot gluing two wiggle googly eyes on top of the wings. Dip a new pencil eraser the mixture and dotting on either side of the face for cheeks.
Attach the rhinestone hearts to the winter bugs. Draw a mouth from cheek to cheek with a permanent black marker. Finally add a white pompom nose to each face.
Place the antennae in the drain hole at the top of the pot and secure with a dot of glue.
