Do you have any budding dancers in your family?

Do your kids have any dance moves they would like to show off?

Making a video with your kids is a great family activity. Not only is it fun for everyone, but you’ll create a great memory with your kids.

Have you seen all the “Happy” dances on Youtube? The song Happy by Pharrell Williams has captured the imagination of people all over the world and they’re dancing it out in joyful videos from Paris to Hong Kong. I smile every time I see one of these videos.

Why not make a Happy video?

It occurred to me that making a “Happy” video would be a really fun project for families. I went looking for an example and found this one from some fellow Canadians

Isn’t that fun? Nowadays you don’t have to have fancy equipment or computers to make a short video. Most phones or digital cameras are able to take video footage and editing software is readily available.

If you want to go slightly bigger why not invite your extended family to join you? Wouldn’t it be great to have grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles all getting into the swing? Remember

  • The idea is to have fun
  • Let your kids take the lead
  • It doesn’t have to be perfect!
  • You can edit out most of the really embarrassing stuff
  • Your kids will probably love the really embarrassing stuff.

Most children love to watch themselves on the screen and with a little encouragement even the quietest child can turn into quite a ham. This weekend why not bring out your dance moves and make a Happy video? If you upload it to Youtube send me the link, so I can watch it too.

  1. Sharon – I am super glad to have connected because your blog is terrific! I’ve read through some of your posts and posts where you invite others to share their stories and I’ve enjoyed them. Nice blog you’ve put together here, gives off a good vibe! You know how sometimes you see a movie and describe it as a ‘feel good’ movie well your blog, to me, is a ‘feel good’ blog! Look forward to more from ya!!
