Thanksgiving was the first holiday I celebrated in Canada. I loved it. It is still one of my favorite holidays. Although I grew up with harvest festivals in England, they don’t quite compare to the Canadian Thanksgiving. I really like pausing to give thanks for all the blessings of the year. I relish the special family times as everyone gathers around the table to celebrate. This weekend my partner and I will travel into the city to enjoy a thanksgiving meal with my boys. I can’t wait!
A great way to give thanks for the blessing you have received is to pay it forward through small acts of giving. There is something wonderful about spreading kindness and it makes a great family project. Generally speaking children are naturally compassionate and often want to help when they see a need.
